Dr. Tania Small is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist and global healthcare executive dedicated to advancing innovative, patient-driven science. She began her career at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where she cared for children with cancer and blood disorders, performing bone marrow transplants and leading research aimed at improving survival and quality of life. Her early focus on equitable access for young patients continues to shape her leadership today.
Currently, Dr. Small serves as Senior Vice President and Global Head of Medical Affairs at Bristol Myers Squibb, where she leads a worldwide organization driving the development and delivery of next-generation therapies across oncology, hematology, neuroscience, cardiovascular, and rare diseases. Under her leadership, Medical Affairs has transformed into a strategic execution powerhouse, ensuring groundbreaking therapies reach patients faster while maximizing their clinical and commercial impact.
A recognized thought leader and advocate for patient equity, Dr. Small holds leadership roles with the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and serves on the Executive Committee of the American Cancer Society.
